We are very excited about our breeding program here at Naglfar Cane Corso!!
We have been involved with large breed dogs for many years and the Cane Corso for over 6 years now.
We have had our share of ups and downs with this breed, but would not own any other breed for our family.
We love being able to share our dogs with other Cane Corso enthusiasts. Though we strive to have great confirmation, health and working ability our main goal is to produce great tempered Cane Corsos.
Our first Cane Corso Verdandi and a few others have come from our close and personal family friend Clint Aska @ Mill Reef Cane Corso. We feel very fortunate to have met him 6 years ago and kept a great friendship with him over the years!
He has been a great wealth of information, given us wonderful support, great advice and has been through and through a true friend!
We wish him the very best always with his family and Corsos.
We have also imported some great dogs from Italy, Germany, The Czech Republic, Serbia and have friends all over the world!
We feel very fortunate to have some wonderful people that have added our dogs into their families and keep in constant contact with updates. We now have dogs all over the US, Canada and a few areas through out the world!
Some of our baby’s owners we are now very close friends with and feel like we have added some great additions to our already big family!
We have many Cane Corsos here at our home, we do not consider ourselves a kennel. All our dogs get the
attention, exercise, training, family time and family outings that a dedicated family with one or two dogs would get.
All our dogs get their turns to go to soccer games, baseball games, camping, street hockey, taking & picking up the kids from school and family vacations!!
We don't like to leave anyone left out.
We have our home and property set up to accommodate all our dogs inside the home and outside.
We believe in human and other animal socialization as this breed can be dominant of others and if not socialized properly can be timid or aloof around others and new situations.
We start each puppy out after their initial vaccinations by taking them to parks, pet stores, family gatherings, training sessions and my children's school.
Our dogs also go through constant temperament testing.
All of our animals know who is in charge.
When we enter the house they will sit down and wait for us to enter first, and they don't get up until invited in.
My youngest can put her hand in their food dishes at anytime and they pull away to give her a big kisses.
My daughter loves to climb into their crates and lay right beside them and they welcome her with out hesitating.
We feed all our animals a well balanced diet and incorporate natural supplements to provide; bone, joint,& ligament support.
These supplements also help in over all immune health, cell reproduction, allergies, & skin & coat.
All our animals get a health check monthly and we are always on top of their vaccinations & worming med's!
We started training our dogs with a great group of Schutzhund & PSA trainers that have won some of the top awards here in the USA. We believe that the Cane Corso breed with their great athletic ability can be a great working and tracking dog.
Fall of 2007 we will be starting our training sessions on our property with a wonderful USA recognized Schutzhund & PSA trainer along with several Cane Corso owners, police officers and rare breed enthusiasts!
We always suggest before adopting any animal to do your research.
Get out and see some breeders close up.
Ask questions even if you feel it would offend someone.
First impressions are always correct, Never second guess yourself.
We have a list of questions that we ask when looking for a new animal, we are more than happy to share this list of critical questions with anyone that is serious about finding a new family member.
All our dogs are wonderful with our two young children and our relatives that come out with their infants to teenage kids. Our dogs are very alert and let us know when anyone comes onto our property or slows down in front of our driveway on our private road. Our dogs are always introduced to any rescue animal we take in and a few of them have actually helped with some of our horse rescues.
We always love hearing from Cane Corso enthusiasts and love helping in any way we can!
If you have any questions concerning the Cane Corso, rescue, Schutzhund, PSA or animals in general, please feel free to ask anytime!
We have background in veterinary studies, animal behavior, rescue, rehabbing animals, training, nutrition and supplements!
We believe in making life long friends when our pups & rescues leave to their new families.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to email anytime or give us a call!!
For first time Cane Corso owners we highly recommend obedience training, we like the Koehler obedience method and Schutzhund obedience. This breed needs to know whom is in charge or they will run your household!
Always keep in mind when purchasing or rescuing a dog, that no dog is alike, you can not compare them to another dog. Some need more training, socialization and care than others. This is why we highly recommend finding a great trainer that is also very knowledgeable in animal behavior.
The Cane Corso is not a dog that you can throw in your backyard and feed once a day, they need interaction with their humans and others. They are a very loving and family orientated breed and thrive when they are part of the family!
We do a lot of dog & horse rescue here in Arizona; we believe that with a little love, dedication, the right attention, proper training and the right environment any animal can be turned around.
